Super excited for my next adventure. It’s almost a re-do. I’m heading to the Camino Primitivo, a trail from Oviedo to Santiago de Compostela in the north of Spain. The Primitivo is one of many pilgrimages across Europe. I completed the Camino Frances a few years ago. Here’s a link to that a leg of that journey if you’re interested.
The Primitivo is the oldest and a more traditional route. The route travels through mountains and small towns then joins the last bit of the Camino Frances. I leave the second week of May!
Currently, I’m practicing my inner nerd/obsessive self by making packing lists and finding my old gear. So far I’ve dug up a bluetooth keyboard, packing cubes and multiple travel size lotions.
Why go run/hike almost 200 miles??? Right after a marathon coming up May 5??? I have three reasons.
- I’m excited for the race but need something to keep me running beyond that date.
- I’ll be writing along the way, posting tons of pics and thanks to Laura…I’ll write an article for gulp….submission. More on that to come.
- I love Spanish food.
Yep, I’m doing this!!! I’m going to Spain to try out a fantasy career. Run, hike, write, travel and eat my way along a lovely mountain trail.
So, insert my face on this happy hiker come mid May!
